How Will You Use Your Extra Hour? 5 Ways to Build Confidence and Reclaim Your Time

Did you feel that little gift of extra time this week? Thanks to Daylight Savings, we all got an extra hour in our day. Imagine if every day offered us that same flexibility to breathe, reflect, and focus on what matters most.

While time might not always stretch, we can reclaim it with intention and make space for what fuels our growth and happiness. Here are five ways you can use that “extra hour” to build confidence and embrace a life you love.

1. Reflect on Your Wins (Big and Small)

When was the last time you truly acknowledged your accomplishments? Taking a few minutes to reflect on your wins—even the minor ones—can build your confidence immensely. Grab a notebook, write down your recent successes, and let yourself feel proud. Remind yourself that growth doesn’t always have to be huge; small wins are just as worthy of celebration.

Try This:

Write down three (not 10, not 20, just 3!) things you’re proud of accomplishing this week. Post them on your mirror so you can look at them often and remind yourself of your strength and progress.

2. Practice Self-Care – The Way You Deserve

Self-care is essential, but it’s often the first thing we push aside in busy times. Use that extra hour to pamper yourself, whether it’s with a relaxing skincare routine, a warm bath, or a cozy cup of tea with a favorite book. When you take care of yourself, you send a powerful message to your mind: YOU ARE WORTHY.

Try This:

Create a self-care ritual that feels meaningful to you, something you can look forward to and make time for each week. You’ll feel refreshed and ready to face whatever comes next.

3. Set One New Goal for the Week

Confidence often comes from having clear direction. Take this hour to set a small, achievable goal for yourself—something you can work toward this week. Whether it’s a new hobby, an exercise goal, or something for personal growth, choose something that excites you. Goals remind us of our potential and give us something tangible to work toward. How will you know what you've achieved if you don't know what you're working towards?

Try This:

Think of one area in your life where you’d love to see growth. Set a goal, jot it down, and make a plan to check in on your progress daily.

4. Declutter and Simplify Your Space

Believe it or not, a tidy, organized space can work wonders for your confidence. When your environment feels fresh, your mind often follows suit, making it easier to stay motivated and focused. Use your extra hour to declutter a small area—maybe your desk, a drawer, or even just your digital workspace.

Try This:

Set a timer for 15 minutes and tackle one cluttered area. Notice how you feel afterward—you may even find it boosts your energy and creativity!

5. Embrace Affirmations and Positive Self-Talk

A big part of building confidence is changing how we talk to ourselves. Instead of letting doubts and worries take up space, use this hour to create a few affirmations that lift you up. Write them down and say them out loud. With time, positive self-talk can shift your mindset and help you see yourself in a more empowered light.

Try This:

Choose one affirmation that resonates with you (like “I am capable and deserving of great things”) and repeat it to yourself each morning. The more you practice, the more it will become a natural part of how you think.

Confidence Comes From the Choices We Make

Daylight Savings may have given us just one extra hour, but you can reclaim time every day by making choices that build your confidence and support your growth. These small steps add up over time, creating a foundation of self-belief, resilience, and joy.
